Pickleball is universal! It unites people of all ages, genders, races, beliefs, socioeconomics, physical abilities, and more. It’s a welcoming culture. No matter where you come from, you have a place on the court.
There are few things in this world that bring people together on such a grand scale, but pickleball does just that. There are public courts popping up all over the planet to bring communities together to hit a wiffle ball around, laugh, meet new people, and have fun.
You leave all your worries behind as you enter to the magical pickleball court where camaraderie is at its best. It is a place are where everyone can feel a part of something.
Personally, I have met people whose paths I would have never crossed had it not been for this fabulous sport. Recently, I was lucky enough to travel to Mexico with a group of twenty women who all met through pickleball. We broke bread together, enjoyed the sunshine and the warm ocean water, and yes, we played hours and hours of pickleball. Friendships were created and bonds were made.
I have also had the opportunity to be on the courts with multiple generations (grandparent, parent and grandchild), moving, playing, and having the time of their lives. Where else can this be done?!
Memories and friendships for a lifetime, and it’s all thanks to pickleball.
As we get close to the opening of Slate Pickleball Club, I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of something that will continue to bring this society of people together to unite for the common goal of having fun, getting exercise, meeting new people, and of course some good old-fashioned competition.
