Hello future Slate members,
A club with a program as comprehensive as ours is going to require a complex standard of procedure architecture. Every aspect of our robust programming is going to be of the highest caliber, and for that to occur, the standards must be set well before opening, and the coaches fully trained.
Our coaching philosophy revolves around the title of the program, STAGE, which is an acronym for the basics of what Slate believes in: skill development, tactics first, athlete-centered coaching, games-based, and elation. It is thoroughly elaborated on in our programming manual and coach training protocols that are currently being finalized. I actually just finished making a written test based on our core teaching fundamentals that all coaches will have to take before being permitted to lead programming, one small slice of our hefty onboarding pie.
Slate’s coaches will be mandated to follow STAGE’s overarching philosophies. They will be consistently tested and audited. Monthly full-staff training will be paramount, part of the expectation of continuing education. All coaches will also be PPR Certified. This is going to ensure a consistent quality and style of learning across the program. One coach isn’t going to be teaching an entirely different way than another, like you’ll see elsewhere.
If you join the adult group instructional pathway, we will truly develop you in every way an athlete can be in the fastest and funnest way known to sport science. Adult group instructionals won’t just be “drills”. Our coaches will be teachers, not just players who feed balls and throw out quick tips.
At the grand opening, we will offer a complimentary Initiation experience where the entire coaching staff will be present, assigning all players a Tier rating, which will place all players in the correctly leveled programming, including Adult Group Instructional. Thus begins your journey at Slate, on your way to becoming a CEO of the courts!
